Botox® / Dysport™
How does it work?
Botulinum Toxin is a neurotoxin commonly known by brand names such as Botox® or Dysport™. It is a muscle relaxant that blocks the release of the chemical that causes muscles to contract.
When Botulinum Toxin is injected into the muscles, it inhibits facial (dynamic) lines from occurring and prevents permanent (static) lines and wrinkles from forming. Therefore, this treatment is an ideal preventative measure.
The effect is temporary and lasts up to 4 months. As muscle contraction gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles will reappear, at that point retreatment is advised.
What are the indications and commonly treated areas?
- Horizontal frown lines on the forehead
- To create an eyebrow lift
- Frown lines between the eyebrows (glabella)

What are the benefits?
If the muscle doesn’t move, the skin won’t form a wrinkle. Starting at a young age with this treatment is advantageous because it is an effective anti-aging method.
Botulinum toxin offers natural results for men and women by softening facial lines thus resulting in a more youthful appearance.
Bruxism treatment will relieve headaches and excessive tooth wear caused by grinding of the teeth.
Hyperhidrosis treatment will reduce excessive sweating under the arms.
This is a quick procedure that requires no anaesthesia or downtime, normal daily activity can resume immediately after.
