Chemical peels
How does it work?
A chemical peel is an aesthetic treatment where an acid-based solution is applied to the skin.
This process will generate a healing response by causing the skin to exfoliate and eventually peel off.
After the peeling, the new skin underneath is transformed by improving skin quality and health.
Chemical peels can be divided into very superficial, superficial, medium and deep peels. The depth of the peel will determine the degree of flaking or peeling as well as the downtime required after the treatment.
At Youthful Beauty we offer the following chemical peels:
- DermExcel Peel: very superficial peel with no to little flaking and no downtime, can be repeated every 2 – 4 weeks.
- Elaine Brennan GetGlowing Micro-Peel: superficial peel with flaking and no downtime, can be repeated every 4 – 6 weeks.
- Elaine Brennan Skin Renewal Peel: medium peel with a great deal of peeling and 1 week downtime, can be repeated every 6 – 12 months.
- Cosmelan Peel: medium peel with peeling and 1 week downtime, can be repeated every 12 – 18 months.

What are the benefits?
The advantages of chemical peels are endless and numerous skin concerns can be addressed.
A chemical peel treatment optimises and maintains the result of all the other facial aesthetic procedures and makes the skin look healthier and younger with a radiant glow.
It also improves active ingredient penetration when using medical skincare products.
The peels stimulate the growth of new healthy skin cells as well as collagen production, therefore making it effective in improving skin tone and elasticity.
The skin appears smoother with a more refined texture plus fine lines and wrinkles are softened.
It removes the appearance of sun damage, age spots and reduces pigmentation to even out the skin tone.
This treatment also helps with the management of oily skin, blackheads and acne by clearing up inflammation.
The added benefits of a chemical peel are that enlarged pores appear smaller as well as superficial scars can be less visible.
